Grace

Well since all of this was Charis' idea, I thought it would only be befitting if I post her Poem First.

GRACE

Right from day one, you had our hearts won.
Our Monday night was lit up by your joyful presence
Amongst us, a new accent
An accent that spoke so kindly, so polite
Saying, “Sorry” and “Thank you”: morning, day, and night
A bright and beautiful face, named Grace
A smile that seems to last until eternity,
A frown on her face… well that you will never see.
A heart of pure Gold, a sweet and God-Fearing soul, need I say more?
If you need a hand in the kitchen, you’ll find she is quite helpful
If your hands are cold and need mittens, she is quite thoughtful
And if you need and Oshiwambo student she’s most teachable.
She seems to be filled with nothing but love
One that seems to come from above
But quite literally, actually
Because on the map, Britain is above Namibia, you see.
Well Charis is her name,
And there aren’t many like her, no not one the same.
We just like to say thank you, for the time we have gotten to know you.
And we pray you will be blessed, with nothing but the best.

Well this poem was more like a farewell letter more than anything. It was really just a short thank you note to our friend Charis, who traveled thousands of kilometers (From the U.K), left her home and her family, for 7 weeks or so to explore Namibia! And yet being so far away from her home, she still managed to have a smile on her face, one that was quite contagious in fact!
